“ We went there for an early dinner, we queued for a few minutes and got seated in a traditional table (low table) with a touchscreen to order. The food was exceptional and we felt very welcomed as foreigners. The staff were also very communicative regarding the ordering process. Overall it was an authentic amazing experience, and I can’t stress how good everything was. Highly recommend ”

“ Nice izakaya in Takayama. All the dishes we tried were worth it, special mention to the grilled tofu. Maybe a little bit on the expensive side. It was packed on Saturday night but we didn't have to wait and the food was in front of us just a couple of minutes after ordering. Staff is friendly and welcoming. English menu is available. Several vegetarian options which are not so easy to find in Japan. ”

“ We dropped in to try our luck and the dining experience was great. This is a local restaurant with limited seats . The food variety was wide with some local Hida family dishes . Quite many iron plate dishes and we enjoyed the tofu and sashimi . The price is reasonable to us . We shall come again next time visit. ”

“ Food here was amazing. We stayed 4 days in Takayama and came here on out first and last day. It had amazing food and the staff was helpful and friendly. The hida beef on magnolia leaf was really tasty and different than your usual beef. The fried mochi on soup melted in our mouth and the braised tofu uses a type of tofu only found in this region, which was also quite good. ”

“ A very local izakaya where cold people huddle together and counter seats give you the best idea on what to order. The pictures says it all. Usually reserved only but we got lucky, buzz to order, English menu available and most of the time - just point to the picture and be surprised! On both times we ate from here - we had the wings. The shrimp is a must try with the sake too. Oh we also had the julienne sliced tomatoes to cool things down. Please visit! ”

“ We had dinner there. These days we had problems finding a place with ambient but passing by, we could hear voices so we stopped and decided to get some food there. Waiters and food amazing, hida meat and pork sticks are delicious but you should try the steamed tomate with cheese and basil, light and tasteful. 5/5 ”
